President Joe Biden's regulatory assault on American families is easily the worst in American history.
As the Biden administration continues its bumbling path through a disastrous domestic policy agenda, its newest proposal might take the proverbial cake: blanket student loan forgiveness. Among the myriad of bad policies this administration has put forward over the last two years, none have been so blatant in pandering to the left-wing base as the recent move to forgive $10,000 in student loans.
Hundreds of thousands of migrants are crossing into our country illegally every day, and our border has never been less secure. When Biden announced changes to the policies at our border soon after taking office, millions of migrants flooded our borders to take advantage of the lax rules, entering and disappearing without a trace. Others have attempted to enter the U.S. with ill-intentions, engaging in criminal activity both along the border and inside the country.
Haven’t Americans suffered enough at the hands of the Biden administration? Clearly, Democrats didn’t think so as they’re not done waging war on the middle class. While inflation is continuing to rage unchecked by Democrat power, the country is suffering from a recession (even by the Biden administration’s own standards). Alarmingly, the savings of Americans are worth less today than they were a year ago.
The last two years have realigned priorities for many of us. When we could no longer depend on items and activities we used to take for granted, we were forced to narrow our focus to what’s most important — priorities like faith, family, health and food.
We all need good, wholesome food to grow and survive. And for that, we need a new farm bill that will support American farmers and protect our access to a national food supply in the near term and for generations to come.
As the only Florida Republican on the House Agriculture Committee, I have traveled extensively to meet producers across our district and great state to understand their challenges and unique needs. Florida’s cattle industry is not only the nation's second-leading state in cow-calf production but one of the top 15 largest in the United States. The cattle industry is an integral economic driver in the state, supporting a vast network of associated businesses. These allies include feed companies, heavy machinery corporations, fertilizer manufacturers, processors, and many others.
Over the last few months, American mothers and parents everywhere have been in panic mode, scrambling to find baby formula after the Biden administration botched the crisis of its own creation. Adding insult to injury, a recent flood in Michigan has delayed the plant’s return to normal operations, delaying a return to normal supply. And if women didn’t already have enough to worry about, we’re now seeing a nationwide tampon shortage.
This situation begs the question: What does the nationwide tampon shortage tell us about the future of our economy?
One of the Biden administration’s first actions in office was to halt the Keystone XL Pipeline—shuttering domestic energy production, forcing thousands of American energy workers out of their jobs, and signaling a drastic shift in energy policy to the American people.
This week marks National Police Week, an annual recognition of the service and sacrifice of our men and women in law enforcement across the country. As the wife of a first responder, this week is a meaningful moment for me to pause and reflect on those who give so much to protect all of us each day.
During National Police Week, we take a moment to pause and honor the men and women of our law enforcement community who have given so much to keep us all safe. To don the badge is one of our nation’s highest honors, but one that comes with unique dangers that so few of us experience firsthand.
For those who risk their lives to protect our safety and the values we hold dear, thank you for all you do.
