Statement from the Office of Congresswoman Kat Cammack

January 25, 2026

Peaceful Protest is a Right, Violence is Not

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Office of Congresswoman Kat Cammack supports the constitutional rights to free speech and peaceful assembly, cornerstones of our constitutional republic. We recognize the fear, frustration, and pain many Americans are feeling, and those concerns deserve to be expressed peacefully.

What is unfolding in Minneapolis has moved beyond peaceful protest. Leaders at every level must lower the temperature, enforce the law, and protect public safety. In the days ahead, we will work to ensure a full and transparent review of events.

Florida has shown that constitutional freedoms and law enforcement can and must go hand in hand. Violence, intimidation, and lawlessness are never acceptable. Disagreement with policy does not justify threats or harm to law enforcement or fellow Americans.
