GAINESVILLE, FL – The Office of Congresswoman Kat Cammack announced that Clay County received a $2,778,696 Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) Award grant from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The grant assists fire departments in increasing the number of firefighters to meet industry minimum standards and attaining 24-hour staffing to provide adequate protection from fire and fire-related hazards.

The city will use the money to replace heavy-duty diesel-fueled trucks with zero-emission, electric-powered refuse trucks.
The City of Ocala will be among the early adopters of the new technology in the country and one of Florida's first cities to implement the new sanitation trucks in its fleet.

GAINESVILLE, FL – Today, Congresswoman Kat Cammack (R-FL-03) announced that the Clay County Fire Rescue Department has received an "Assistance To Firefighters" Grant from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). "Yesterday morning, I was on a call hosted by the White House with Secretary of State Blinken, Secretary of Defense Austin, and General Milley. More than six times, all three officials stated, 'we are engaging in an orderly and safe withdrawal' and we have 'planned for all contingencies.' Finally, they said 'the Taliban isn’t in Kabul.' They cut off questions from Members leaving us with few or no answers.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Cammack applauded the unanimous passage of H.R. 267, the Wildfire and Hurricane Indemnity Program Plus (WHIP+) Reauthorization Act. The bill makes important updates to the administration of the program and causes of loss to cover sugar and dairy cooperative processors; smoke-tainted wine grapes due to wildfires; losses from high winds, derechos, excessive heat, and freezes.
The committee also incorporated changes to the bill's language to ensure all Florida and Louisiana cane farmers are covered by the program.
