WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Friday, Congresswoman Kat Cammack joined Congressman Joaquin Castro (TX-20) and Congresswoman Maria Elvira Salazar (FL-27) in a letter urging the Department of Veterans Affairs to expand benefits and services for veterans who developed cancer and other health conditions after exposure to toxic herbicide during service in the Panama Canal Zone (PCZ).

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Exposure to per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) is linked to cancer and other diseases. Unfortunately, these substances may have contaminated the water of several Florida military bases, putting service members and their families at risk.

GAINESVILLE, FL – On Friday, Congresswoman Kat Cammack honored the 2022 Veteran of the Year, Mr. Ansil Lewis, a 30-year United States Marine Corps veteran, at a small ceremony in Gainesville.
Surrounded by friends, family, and fellow veterans, Sergeant Major Lewis received a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol in his honor, a plaque bearing his name, one of Congresswoman Cammack's challenge coins, and his special recognition in the Congressional Record.
